Use the ideas board
Find, filter and prioritise problems before the team commits to a software evaluation.
Ideas is the intake backlog for software problems and opportunities. It helps the workspace gather demand before somebody starts shopping, and keeps contributors informed when a useful idea moves into structured evaluation.
Before you start
• Any workspace member who can open Ideas can browse the backlog available to them.
• Category management and some status actions are limited to workspace administrators.
Step by step
1. Read the status summary
Use Total, New, Reviewing, In progress and Escalated counts to understand the backlog. Select a count to open that filtered state.
2. Filter the backlog
Choose All, My ideas or a status such as New, Reviewing, In progress, Escalated or Declined. Use Area and Category to narrow the results without changing the underlying ideas.
3. Choose a useful sort
Trending combines recent engagement, votes, comments and stated impact. You can instead sort by Most upvoted, Most discussed or Newest.
4. Open an idea
Select the title to read its full problem statement, board-question answers, submitter, process area, impact, frequency and conversation. If it has been escalated, follow View project to the resulting evaluation.
5. Add a signal
Use the vote control when the problem matters to you, and comment with evidence, examples or a clarifying question. Remove your vote by selecting the same control again.
6. Start a new contribution
Select Submit idea for a signed-in submission, or Public boards to manage open links and QR codes used to collect ideas without a login.
What happens next
• Submit a new idea if the problem is not already represented.
• Escalate a reviewed idea only when it is ready for a governed project.
Troubleshooting
An expected idea is missing from the list.
Clear status, Area, Category and My ideas filters, then try Newest. Confirm you are in the workspace where it was submitted.
Trending order is different from total vote order.
Trending deliberately considers recency, comments and impact as well as votes. Choose Most upvoted when vote count should be the only primary signal.
The Category Manage control is not shown.
Category creation and deletion are admin-only. Ask a workspace administrator to maintain the category list.
