Manage reusable templates

Use the main Templates library to govern reusable form definitions.

Templates live in the main Templates area, not Settings. The library stores reusable form definitions without carrying responses from the source project. Starters are platform-provided starting points; workspace templates are created and governed by your team.

In the app: /templates

Before you start

• Use a descriptive name, owner and mode so builders know whether the template is intended for an RFI, demo scorecard, stakeholder test or survey.

• Remove project-specific names, deadlines and vendor references before publishing a reusable definition.

Step by step

1. Open Templates from the main navigation

Choose Templates in the app navigation. The old Settings → Templates path redirects here and is not a separate administration surface.

2. Create, duplicate or start from a source

Create a new library template, duplicate a suitable existing one or save a clean project form to the library.

3. Edit the reusable definition

Set the mode, name, sections, pages, questions, guidance, response sets and presentation. Keep only defaults that should repeat across projects.

4. Publish or archive

Publish when the definition is approved for deployment. Archive an outdated workspace template; hide a platform starter if it should not be offered to your team.

5. Deploy and review in context

Deploy to the intended project, then review project wording, scoring, owners and dates before releasing the new form.

What happens next

• Deployment creates a new working form; it does not link future edits back to the library template.

• Survey templates are selected from the project’s New survey flow using From your library.

Troubleshooting

A template is missing from a project chooser

Confirm it is published, not archived, and uses a compatible form mode for that creation flow.

Old project responses appear absent

This is expected. Templates copy structure only; responses remain with the source form.

Settings → Templates does not show an editor

Use Templates from the main navigation. The Settings route is intentionally a redirect.
