Configure scoring and response sets

Scoring settings define workspace defaults, while response sets provide reusable labelled answer scales and RFI verdicts. Project and form settings can refine those defaults, but released and historic evidence must remain interpretable under the configuration used at the time.

Before you start

• Workspace scoring defaults require admin access. Response sets are visible to members allowed to build evaluations.

• Agree what every score and not-applicable option means before introducing a shared scale.

Step by step

1. Review the workspace scoring defaults

Open Settings → Scoring and inspect the relative stream weights and any default score behaviour used for new projects.

2. Adjust the intended defaults

Change only the values that should apply to future work, then save. Existing project-specific weights remain the authority for that project.

3. Create reusable answer scales

Open Settings → Response sets, create or edit a set and define the label, colour, numeric score and not-applicable behaviour for each option.

4. Maintain RFI verdicts

Use the verdict editor to keep review outcomes consistent. Choose language that is clear to reviewers and distinguish a verdict from a raw numeric score.

5. Test in a draft form

Add the response set to a draft question, preview the respondent and scoring views, and confirm the values match the intended meaning before publishing.

What happens next

• New forms and projects can adopt the saved defaults; each released form keeps its own versioned configuration.

• Section weights, scoring mode and project stream weights are set within the relevant evaluation or project.

Troubleshooting

A changed response set does not alter an old response

This is expected. Historic responses remain bound to the released version they received.

Totals look wrong after changing weights

Check question, section and project stream weights together, then use the project’s explicit recalculate action when a refresh is intended.

A response set cannot be deleted

It may be in use. Create a replacement or stop using it in drafts rather than breaking released forms.
